Below is a partial post from another forum I'm on about PhotoBuckets new policy to stop hosting pictures for free. If you have posted pictures to Transalp.org using Photobucket they will soon disapear.

I've been using Photobucket to host photos for years, for the most part for illustrating technical articles about motorcycle maintenance and modification. Recently I got an email from them, stating that they'd no longer allow third party hosting (i.e. posting photos to Photobucket, then linking those photos to other websites like this one) for free. I was thinking "Okay, they're going to ask for maybe $15 or $20 a year to do third party hosting". Wrong. They're demanding $400 a year to continue doing this.

I've already noticed photos going missing from technical articles on this site. We as a community are losing invaluable resources that have been shared by numerous members here, along with the history of this community and the accomplishments of its more creative and imaginative members.

Yeah, for someone who has been using Photobucket for years and had lots of photos there, they are not happy campers. I've been using Tinypic.com and like the site but it is owned by the same company as Photobucket so who knows if it will stay free. Another couple that currently remain free Photo Hosting sites include Imgur.com and Postimages.org.

Dropbox can be used but you need to slightly modify the link they give you for use in the img tag. Of course Dropbox is not picture specific but it is free for up to 2GB of storage. Here is a link returned by Dropbox:

You need to remove '?dl=0' and change 'www' to 'dl' to use it:
