How about your browser, my fellows.

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for years, mostly because I am very comfortable with it.

I am sure there are better browsers out there, but I say if you'r on a good thing, stick to it.

What do you use?

Cheers, Nev Very Happy

Sorry, Nev - I was down in the Beer Cellar checking my stock levels, burp  Laughing

I've been using Mozilla Firefox for about 5 years and also am using their Thunderbird e-mail application.  Both have been stable and secure for me.  Rarely, certain websites don't want to work with FF though and I have to access them with Internet Explorer to use them.

Ah, a statistical trend develops, 50% of Firefox users are alcoholics.
However I need more data to come to any meaningful conclusion.

Lets hear from you, chaps.

Now here comes the oddball factor:

1) My wee laptop (XP Pro) came with IE7, but IE7 crashes in three minutes or less each and every time I use it. So I use FireFox there.

2) My Debian Linux tower does most of my work here at home. I am writing this on IceWeasel, which is just FireFox on Debian renamed because of some licensing squabble. Occasionally, I use Epiphany. But all my porn surfing is done using Konqueror, because I can turn the images off, and because no one would know where to find that app.

3) At the office, on my XP box I use IE. I have FireFox for when IE chokes. For example, when developing programs which create PDFs, I find that IE will not display a reloaded PDF after error. I use Safari when I want things to look different. It has a nice restful feel to it.

4) Also at the office, my Debian box there has IceWeasel and Konqueror; but I mostly use Epiphany. No good reason. I like that the google search goes in the same place as the URL.

Regardless which machine, I make sure not to install Flash on any but the IEs. That makes it easier to avoid that crap. I hate when I am searching for info and some nitwit wants to hand me a song and dance.

I just heard this evening on a tech. radio show that the new Firefox 3.0 is supposed to be hands down the best new browser available.  My pc is 10 years old so I have IE, 2 old versions of Firefox, and a browser built into one of my media players.  I use IE the most, but I would prefer to use Firefox but haven't figured out the security settings so it will let me see images and video.  The media browser is all advertising which bugs me.  I understand Firefox doesn't release your search history, etc. to the govt. like IE, etc. does.  Microsoft can take a long walk off a short pier.
Firefox would be a cool name for a small dual sport bike.

I have 3 Macs (counting a server) and 2 PC's and have used Firefox for the most part.  I do occasionally use Safari on the Mac, but still prefer Firefox for some reason.  No logical reason, but just prefer it.  Safari is a bit fster, but I like the easy add-ons for Firefox and compatibility.

At the moment I'm running a pretty new laptop with Windows 7 and currently use Google chrome. Brilliant browser, customisable and pretty fast!
Uninstalling IE was pretty much the first thing I did when buying the laptop! After downloading chrome of course Wink

Chrome has a special option that allows Google Chrome to run HTML 5 on YouTube on the PC.  It is WAY better than Flash.  Better compression, smoother scrolling, less memory usage.  Newer and Superior.  Do a google search for Chrome Youtube HTML5 and it goes straight to that page.  Plus, it will be what everyone replaces their Flash pages with an the iPhone uses it.  HUGE advantage.
