I got pulled over by Hillsboro Police on my Transalp about 1/2hr ago.

Yup, I decided to get another therapeutic ride in on a warm night.
Drove to downtown Portland, Then around Highway 30 up Cornelius pass
By Intel just to flip it off, Place I used to work. (Just kidding)
And just as I passed the AirPort..
Red and blue Lights behind me!

First I just thought he wanted through
Nope Pulled me over.
OK What Did I do?

He starts in, Going 42 in a 35 for a while (Downhill)
I Didn’t wait 100 feet after turn signal,
And then The last I swearved into the next lane and didn’t wait another 100Feet.

I said Well the last one, is because I thought you were tailgating me and at this time of night

I don’t like tailgaters.  Well he said that’s true, but probably because you got off the throttle.

(Thinking to myself, regardless why are you following me that close, I don’t like tail gators)

He was being nice don’t get me wrong.
He said when I first saw you I thought your tail light was out!
You might want to have that checked out.. (Ya BS thinking to myself)

Then he says Do I have my License and Registration.
I had it to him, Insurance, License and Registration…
He says “OK you have your endorsement, that’s good, and prescription glasses, that’s good”

He then says “I pull all motorcycles over, because a lot of them don’t have endorsement or insurance”

(OK? I thinking Isn’t that illegal to target  a driver type and pull them over? Isn’t that like Pulling over all Honda Accords?)

But I wasn’t going to say anything..

He said Let me check on your license…
Walking back to the car..

I said UH? Am I getting a ticket?
He said well no, but it depends what the computer says..
I kidded I hope not…

I came up clean (YEAH!) No wants or warrants.. LOL

And we talked for a second or two before he got a call and left…

Whew! But Pulling over All Motorcycles?
I guess that’s what happens in a Small town like Hillsboro.

But I still had a nice ride…
Yeah I’m alive and not in jail 

Tip if ever in Hillsboro Oregon, Always have Valid Endorcement Insurance and Registration.. UGH!

Russ

The first time was in the same bike, but my Tabs were expired..
(he didn't care, he just warned me and wanted to know what kind of bike it was.)

The both guys who pulled me over road bikes also, So if you are a cop, you pull over bikes because you are jeolous? LOL

Aag man, Russ, that happens to me all the time, but I tend to think of it this way: the more bikes/cars they check the fewer bike riders will get hurt/killed. So I welcome being stoppped and checked.

It is a little unsettling to be pulled over on your second time but you will get used to it by the time you reach 103 years of age  Laughing

BTW good to hear that you are riding, keep it up.

Today was the worst. I went for the re-issue/extention of my drivers licence and it just so happened that I failed the eye test! Yep, FAILED! - Should have studied harder!

How Dumb do you have to be to FAIL the eye test?  Embarassed

So I (or was it eye) had to pop down to the local optometrist for a test because - according to the young lady that tested me - I am BLIND.  Shocked

She said that I have to be able to see the diamond shape with BOTH eyes!

So, I went to the Eye guy - and she was rather nice to look at - not a guy at all and she passed me without even trying to sell me a pair of specs! Can you believe it?

Anyway, an hour later while driving past Paarl there was a roadblock - half checking the passing vehicles one by one, and half giving out pamflets about road safety. The one they gave me had to do about speed - must have known about my dirty passed (past).

Did you know that speed kills? I thought it was the lack of speed ie: impact that actually kills. Well how about that? Laughing

Wait a second?
Your Eye Doctor can approve your Drivers license?

Laugh, They would never allow that in states
The State has Authority over everything.
(And you guys thought it was the land of the free LOL)

Very Happy
Nope, those okes have no juris dick tion. They can only pass judgement on wheather or not I can see. And SHE could clearly SEE that I could see, cos I could not stop looking  Cool

Actually, In the days when my father got his driving licence, were talking just after WW2 here, the local medical practitioner was the licencing authority. The story goes, as told by my father, that he presented himself at the consulting rooms. The doctor asked him how he had gotten there. "I drove here by car" was the reply. "Well that proves that you are able to drive, here is your licence."

Even when I went for my bike licence in 1980, The examiner asked me a few questions, mainly about trucks - it was a small farming comunity and that was probably all he knew - asked me to ride about 200 meters along the road, turn around and return. I did this without falling even once, so I got the licence  Rolling Eyes

Nowadays you gotta sit for an exam, I hear, and maybe line the pages of the answer pad with buffaloes - (R100 notes) - to feed the Cheetas - (R200 notes) - we're a very affluent bunch over here you know.  Twisted Evil
