Hi there. I have this Transalp from '90. It's in pretty poor condition, so I want a donorbike.
Long story, registrationfee in Denmark is rediculous. Makes us pay 3 times the price of the bike. That's a bitch, but the way it is.
So, I want to buy a Transalp in good condition. Probably in Germany. Use it as donor, but what will fit the frame? Is the engine the same on alle models, on the outside of the engine?
I want af total donation on parts, and minor modifications is ok. |

| You can get the specs for every year over on Deti's Transalp page. Just google it. Look for the change to the 650 engine. I would guess parts up to that point would fit the 90. |

They are all the same, I studied this because I changed my 87engine with a 91 one..
They all have the same holding points on the frame.
Even a 650cc engine will perfectly fit into a XL600V frame..
100%
I think even the new 700cc has the same holding bolts. |

hi, i recently had a 1999 transalp donor bike with an unusable frame. i transferred everything over to a 1989 frame, there are a couple of differences. the 1989 frame has a drum brake, hence, a bracket needs welding onto the frame so that the rear master cylinder can be mounted. the older bike has different coils to the new bike, hence, 2 mounting holes need to be drilled through the frame in order to mount one of the bigger coils. the other coil will mount onto the existing coils bracket. there is some kind of plastic thing under the tank, this could also do with a hole drilling in the frame to mount it. however, i didnt bother with this one and the bike has ran perfectly for the last 2 years.
